A private family in Gampaha is looking for a patient and responsible part-time Home Tutor to support a student's school studies. The selected tutor will explain lessons, assist with homework and revision, and help the student improve confidence and academic performance.

This opportunity is suitable for university students, graduates, trainee teachers or experienced tutors who are available during evenings or weekends.

Job Information

Requirements

• Basic Sinhala or English communication skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly, patiently and respectfully with students.
• Good knowledge of the subjects being taught.
• Applicants should be 18 years or older.
• Ability to explain lessons clearly and patiently.
• Good communication and time-management skills.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide individual or small-group lessons according to the agreed schedule.
• Explain school lessons clearly and support students with difficult topics.
• Help students complete homework, assignments and revision activities.
• Prepare simple lesson plans and learning activities when required.
• Monitor student progress and provide helpful feedback.
• Communicate with parents or guardians about schedules and learning progress when appropriate.
